Smoky Pickle Porkies

These aren't your traditional cocktail porkies - these are elevated with cheddar cheese and Famous Dave's Pickles!

Ingredients

Smoky Pickle Porkies

2 lbs. Sausage Links

1 Jar Famous Dave's Sweet 'N Spicy Pickle Spears

1/2 Block of Sharp Cheddar Cheese

1 Package Hickory Smoked Bacon

Drunken Apricot BBQ Sauce

10 oz. of Famous Dave's Sweet & Zesty BBQ Sauce

10 oz. of Famous Dave's Rich & Sassy BBQ Sauce

10 oz. Apricot Preserves

Tip

To mix it up try using a specialty sausage, like chorizo, andouille, or chicken!

Preparation

  1. While preheating the grill or oven, cut the sausages in half.
  2. Slice a slot into the sausage halves for the pickle and cheddar cheese.
  3. Place the pickle spear alongside a thin slice of cheese and place into sausage, wrap with bacon and secure with a toothpick if needed.
  4. Grill on indirect heat or cook in oven until the bacon crisps.
  5. In a medium bowl, gently mix the sauces together with apricot preserves.
  6. Serve Porkies with apricot BBQ sauce.
